The topic of The Big Bang can be a tricky one. But it needs to be addressed, in my opinion. Many youths of today in the church come back from schools and colleges and have completely denounced their faith. Why? Because of science and peer pressure. First, I want to address the differences and common things about The Big Bang and creationism from a biblical standpoint. I first want to make this clear that not all atheists believe in evolution, but the majority do, and not all Christians believe in creationism but evolution and The Big Bang. For some reason, some atheists believe in creationism more than evolution, and you have to ask why. Why would an atheist who denies the existence of god believe the opposite of evolution?
So let us start with creationism. According to the dictionary, creationism is the belief that the universe and living organisms originated from specific acts of divine creation, as in biblical accounts, rather than by natural processes such as evolution. To understand what creationism is, you have to fully or at least have a grasp of what the creation story tells us. If you have already made up your mind based on what people believe, you made a biased decision.
Creationism in the biblical account of the universe can become hard to understand and sometimes confusing, so I will leave links to graphs after each paragraph to help you understand each topic. Creation first begins in Genesis 1 and 2. When we read Genesis 1, we begin before everything was created, and there was only God. When we hear Genesis 1:1, "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth." This verse speaks on all of creation (Day 1-6). In Genesis, we not only see creation being made, but we get a taste of the trinity also as we see in Genesis 1:26 "Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and the birds of the heavens and the livestock and all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” Did you catch the 'US?' This is speaking on the Godhead (Father, Son, Holy Spirit). On the 1st day, God created the universe and the earth. On the 2nd day, God created the sky and atmosphere. On the 3rd day, God created dry land and all of plant life. On the 4th day, God created the stars and heavenly bodies. This also includes the sun and the moon. On the 5th day, God created the birds and all the creatures of the water. On the 6th day, God created all the land animals and man.

So according to the biblical creation story, we see that man came last after all of the rest was created first. But what does science say about this? Now science is nothing more than man trying to discover what we have and trying to uncover the truth. So I should be asking what does man say about this? Well, it's simple, The Big Bang. According to a BBC article, we see again the claim that The Big Bang completely removes the idea of a creator. "The Big Bang Theory is a scientific approach to answering the question of how the world began. In answering this question, the Big Bang Theory removes the need for a creator." According to those who wrote this article, People who believe in God should not believe in The Big Bang. Why? Because with this theory comes the belief that there was no God involved. Here are some facts on The Big Bang that will surprise Christians also.
The Big Bang includes the belief that the universe is expanding (which is the increase of the distance between two parts of the universe with time). This is mentioned in many verses, but we will only look at one for an example. Isaiah 45:12: “I made the earth and created man on it; it was my hands that stretched out the heavens, and I commanded all their host” ESV. Some verses say "stretches out the heavens like a curtain." The Big Bang also makes it clear that the earth formed over a time of billions of years. Is that true? According to scripture. Yes. One thing Christians believe is that God created the universe. But the biggest mistake that we make is believing that all words in scripture are LATERAL. But throughout Scripture, we also see words can mean different things and did mean different things in that given time and culture. (Read More Here) Many scholars and scientists that are Christians refer to a literal 24-hour day. Many other scholars and Christian scientists point out the non-literal use of 'day,' which uses the word day as a meaning of the beginning and end of a specific time which is mentioned in Genesis 2:4 and 2:27. Personally, I believe the earth is billions of years old. Now that we talked about creationism and The Big Bang, what about evolution? Where does evolution come into play? And what is evolution?
יום
The Hebrew word יום means a "day," but not specifically a twenty-four-hour period,
but instead more generically like in "a day that something occurs."
Now according to the dictionary, we have two definitions that get mixed up with each other. One being evolution and the other, adaptation. Evolution is the process by which different kinds of living organisms are thought to have developed and diversified from earlier forms during the history of the earth. Adaptation is the action or process of adapting or being adapted. Many atheists will claim that adaptation is no different from evolution and that's where they are wrong.
