Jesus In The Streets
Fort Myers, FL

This event was held at Centennial Park in Fort Myers, FL, on Oct 12, 2025, at 2:30 pm. The march took place at about 3:00 pm, where everyone who was present marched along Edwards Dr and back for about 45 minutes. I was told there were an estimated 400 people who showed up to show support and join the worship and praise before and after the march.

Why do they march on the streets? Why praise and worship in public? Many would say this is not needed. To keep it private inside the church building.

While driving up to this event, I got a call about an event that was happening in Venice, FL, where I live. This event was a TurningPoint USA event, and I would have loved to go, but I was already in Fort Myers. I needed a break from going to a political event, so going to this Jesus in the streets event was my answer. Even afterwards, I was told that the Turning Point USA event was sort of a disaster. From what I was told, there were only female speakers, and there was nothing much more than that. Where are the men when it comes to these events? Where are the young men who need to stand up for the truth? Where is the Church?

The Church is not a building but the body that makes up the Ekklesia. Ekklesia is the Greek word that means "called-out assembly." In most cases, the word is translated as "Church." Another view of the word Ekklesia means a political assembly, Athens, or a Church.

Ive heard many claim the church doesn't need to be loud to show the world that we are Christians and follow Jesus. These are the same peoplle who also say that we don't need to do anything because the Holy Spirit is all we need. The question I would ask would be what is the point of the great commission then?

We see in scripture over and over again about not being ashamed of the gospel.

The word translated “ashamed” means “disgraced” or “personally humiliated.” A person “ashamed” in this way is like someone singled out for misplacing his confidence—he trusted in something, and that something let him down. The word can refer to being dishonored because of forming the wrong alliances. So, when Paul says that he is not ashamed of the gospel, he is saying his confidence in the gospel is not misplaced. There is no disgrace in declaring it. Paul had given his life to proclaiming the truths that Jesus Himself had revealed to him (Acts 9:3–6; 2 Corinthians 12:2–4). He explained to the Romans why he did not believe that he had wrongly identified with Jesus and why proclaiming Jesus’ message was his life’s work. (https://www.gotquestions.org)

Matthew 10:32-39

Don’t Be Ashamed of Your Faith

32 “If you stand before others and are willing to say you believe in me, then I will tell my Father in heaven that you belong to me. 33 But if you stand before others and say you do not believe in me, then I will tell my Father in heaven that you do not belong to me."

Following Jesus May Bring You Trouble

34 “Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace. I came to bring trouble. 35 I have come to make this happen:

‘A son will turn against his father.

A daughter will turn against her mother.
A daughter-in-law will turn against her mother-in-law.
36     Even members of your own family will be your enemies.’

37 “Those who love their father or mother more than they love me are not worthy of me. And those who love their son or daughter more than they love me are not worthy of me. 38 Those who will not accept the cross that is given to them when they follow me are not worthy of me. 39 Those who try to keep the life they have will lose it. But those who give up their life for me will find true life."

"Therefore everyone who confesses Me before men"

This phrase emphasizes the importance of public acknowledgment of faith in Jesus Christ. In the cultural context of the time, confessing Jesus as Lord was a bold declaration, often met with persecution or social ostracism. The act of confession is not merely verbal but involves a lifestyle that reflects allegiance to Christ. This aligns with Romans 10:9, which underscores the necessity of confessing with the mouth that Jesus is Lord. The use of "everyone" indicates the universal call to discipleship, transcending cultural and ethnic boundaries.

"I will also confess him before My Father in heaven"

This promise highlights the reciprocal nature of the relationship between the believer and Christ. Jesus acts as an advocate or mediator, a role further elaborated in 1 John 2:1, where He is described as our advocate with the Father. The imagery of Jesus confessing believers before the Father evokes the judicial setting of a heavenly court, where Christ intercedes on behalf of those who are faithful to Him. This assurance of being acknowledged by Christ before God provides comfort and motivation for believers to remain steadfast in their faith, even in the face of trials. The phrase "My Father in heaven" underscores the divine authority and the ultimate destination of believers, pointing to the eternal relationship with God. (Biblehub.com)
