Jesus Vs. Krishna
The claim that Christianity took stories from Krishna in Hinduism is one of the top arguments skeptics make against Jesus. But is this claim true? Was Jesus a copy of the stories of Krishna or other Hindu Gods? The answer is no. There is nothing in common between Krishna and Jesus that would support these claims.
Krishna was not born on Dec 25th. This is a claim that can be dismantled. All evidence shows that Krishna was born during the summer. (Krishna in history, thought, and culture - Lavanya Vemsoni, PhD, pg.139-140).
Krishna was not born of a virgin because the mother of Krishna (Devaki) had seven sons prior to his birth. (Krishna in history, thought, and culture - Lavanya Vemsoni, PHD pg. 49).
There is no evidence of a star signaling Krishna's birth.
There is no evidence of Krishna being called the 2nd person of a Hindu Trinity of any sort, but instead, he was the eighth avatar (incarnation) of the god Vishnu.
When Jesus was born, wise men came and gave Him gifts, but with Krishna, it's the opposite; Angels are what are believed to be present at the birth of Krishna.
Krishna is depicted dancing on serpents with 1,000 hands.
These are just a few out of many examples of Krishna that we can then say is nothing like the person of Jesus or even close to the God of the Old Testament. There is no comparison between Krishna, just like there are no comparisons that can be found with Ra and Jesus. What happens is that skeptics will not research into other religions and beliefs, but they will trust others who live their whole life just to cause people to be misinformed and deny Christ.

Hinduism consists not only of Krishna, but over 1,000 Gods and counting. But here's the kick, they are all up to interpretation. For example, each god in Hinduism can reveal itself to a person as a different incarnation, and that person can then say something completely different than someone else who claimed to have a dream about the same deity. This shows the inconsistency in Hinduism and how each god is made up and can change according to the person.
The character of Krishna and his life completely contradict who jesus was. To His birth, life, teachings, and even to his personality.
Krishna is known as an "all-attractive" deity. But what does this mean?
"If someone is very powerful, he also becomes attractive, and if someone is very famous, he also becomes attractive, and if someone is very beautiful or wise or unattached to all kinds of possessions, he also becomes attractive."
(Who is Lord Krishna? - ISKCON Berkeley)
One is attractive due to
1) wealth
2) power
3) fame
4) beauty
5) wisdom
6) renunciation
Does this match the character of Jesus to the slightest? No.
The death of Krishna happened when he was about 25 years old, not 30 or even 36 years old, as many claim. Krishna attacked the Hindu priests because they focused too much on rituals, but this again is only speculation. Many believe he was killed for going against the "religious" leaders, but then we are told by tradition that Krishna died by an arrow to the foot (most likely infection) and was shot on accident by a hunter.
The story goes like this:
"One day after the destruction of the Yadav dynasty, Lord Krishna went and sat under a tree in a deep forest. Then a bug named Zara came to the forest to hunt. Then, seeing the crimson feet of Shri Krishna, the deer thought that he shot an arrow, which killed Shri Krishna. Then Zara to Shri KrishnaKrishna was killed. Then Jara saw Krishna and approached him and prayed for his forgiveness. Then Lord Krishna said that he was killed by Jara because of the actions of his previous birth. Because in his previous birth, the monkey king was Bali, and then he was Shriram. When Sugriva went to Kishkindha and called for a battle with Bali, Rama vowed to kill Bali by shooting an arrow from behind during the battle, but Rama could not shoot the arrow because the physical shape of both seemed similar. The next day, there was another battle with Sugriva and Bali. But to recognize Sugriva before the battle, Rama tied a garland around Sugriva's neck and sent him to the battlefield. Then, when the battle between Bali and Sugriva was going on, Rama identified Sugriva by seeing the sign of Gajapushpilata, and Rama shot an arrow at Bali from behind and killed him."
This is what you would call a myth and a man-made story. You will see a theme of making someone's death seem either "epic" or "personalized" to confirm the many practices of Hinduism, like reincarnation. If Krishna was "attractive" and a "reincarnation" of previous Gods, what better than making a story to confirm all of that, so the idea of reincarnation continues and spirituality. This also goes with all the other gods of Hinduism.

From what we have read above, does this sound like the character or historical Jesus according to the Bible? Absolutely not. Jesus was not someone you followed simply by the fact you found Him "attractive," but instead, people followed Jesus because He was God in the flesh and proved that by His works and words. Not only is Jesus different in His character, but Krishna isn't close to Jesus Christ when we compare both ministries.
Jesus cast demons out by the Word of God, VS Krishna, supposedly," cast out demons by playing a flute.
Jesus never took a life, VS Krishna murdered tyrannical uncle, Kamsa.
Jesus stood on the original marriage between a man and a woman, VS Krishna had eight wives.
Jesus never strived to overthrow government but to submit to governing authorities. VS Krishna went to war several times to either overthrow a government or a person.
Jesus claimed to be God and proved His deity by rising from the dead 3 days later. VS Krishna died by being cursed by a woman named Gandhari. His body remained on Earth.
Jesus' life can not be compared to Krishna's at any level. Any professors, teachers at any schools, colleges, or a mentor who claims that Jesus stole from Krishna is either a liar or highly misinformed because they either put too much trust in someone or never did any research in their life. It's important to ask questions and do research on these topics. Don't just ask AI or Chat GPT for answers for these important topics when it comes to Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 10:5 "By the humility and gentleness of Christ, I appeal to you—I, Paul, who am “timid” when face to face with you, but “bold” toward you when away! 2 I beg you that when I come I may not have to be as bold as I expect to be toward some people who think that we live by the standards of this world. 3 For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 6 And we will be ready to punish every act of disobedience, once your obedience is complete."
